Wild strawberries raspberries and crunchy red apple notes on the nose, with a hint of spicy brioche. The palate is wonderfully balanced between juicy freshness and mellow ripeness with smoothness and acidity in perfect harmony. The mousse is creamy and gentle, expressing the very elegant fruit with ease.
Vintage Notes:
2018 was an extra-ordinary vintage with a long and dry summer giving great clean, fruit helped by a mild start, a warm spring and summer. Harvest was ealy in late September to preserve acidity. The conditions favoured full flavour wines that will benefit from longer ageing.
Production Notes:
A blend of 70% Pinot Noir, 10% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Meunier The grapes were pressed in a traditional Coquard press. After fermentation the base wines were kept separate and remained on their gross yeast lees over winter to develop additional complexity and richness. The base wines did not go through malolactic fermentation. Bottled in May 2019 the Rose was disgorged on August 2024 and has spent 63 months on the lees.
